Job Description: Lead DevOps Engineer


Job Overview 


As Korio’s Lead DevOps Engineer, you will work with our team of engineers to design and develop the build, release, and maintain DevOps infrastructure. We are looking for someone well versed in modern DevOps concepts and technologies on Cloud based platforms, especially Microsoft Azure. Ideally, you have worked in a variety of environments big and small, and now you are looking for an opportunity to set the tone by implementing industry best practices at Korio. In addition to hands on DevOps architecture and implementation work, you will be responsible for overseeing and mentoring junior DevOps engineers.


What you’ll do

  • Lead our DevOps strategy and implementation across projects.
  • Design, build, manage, support, and administer Azure cloud services and infrastructure.
  • Automate continuous delivery and on-demand capacity management solutions.
  • Ensure critical system security through best-in-class cloud security solutions.
  • Work closely with development teams to integrate their projects into the production Azure environment and ensure their ongoing support once there.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers.
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends and best practices in DevOps and cloud computing.
  • Evolve the Korio DevOps infrastructure to keep up with changes in the cloud landscape and industry best practices.
  • Build Korio’s systems to be scalable, observable, and resilient. This role may involve after-hours support to ensure production systems are always available.


What you bring to the table

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Solid experience in Cloud services, Microsoft Azure preferred.
  • Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and their implementation in GitHub Actions.
  • Knowledge of container orchestration services, especially Kubernetes.
  • Experience with logging and monitoring tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience working in agile teams with tools like Jira.
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills.
  • Experience of MongoDB, Typescript and React are a plus.
