Ryan founded Korio after 15 years in the life sciences space. After receiving a MS in Biostatistics that followed a brief stint in Finance post-undergrad, he packed a U-Haul unemployed (but optimistic) and drove to San Francisco. He found work as a Biostatistician at a boutique CRO called Pacific Data Designs and eventually moved into Business Development within the company. Next, he spent ten years with Endpoint Clinical within Business Development where he moved into Vice President, Business Development and ultimately Chief Commercial Officer – seeing the organization from single-digit employees to a global leading provider.
Ryan’s priority is to keep learning – whether that be new things, or new methods and techniques within things he has been doing for a long time. After 20 years of playing guitar, he’s finally come around to the idea that his time fine-tuning his effects pedals to improve his tone is better spent actually learning how to play so that the effects are not needed. Additionally, after almost 20 years practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, it has only recently dawned on him to slow down, focus on one move at a time as opposed to trying to master every move at once, and spend more time helping his teammates improve.
